A crash with injuries caused significant delays near a busy intersection in Monmouth County, officials said. The crash happened at the intersection of Route 9 and Schank Road (Route 79) in Freehold Township, the state Department of Transportation said at 3:06 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21. Two northbound and three southbound lanes were closed on Route 9. Traffic on Route 79 wasn't allowed to cross the intersection. Details have been released in a crash that caused serious delays along the Garden State Parkway on one of the busiest travel times of the year. Just before 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, a Honda SUV driven by a 62-year-old Jackson man was heading south in the local lanes while a Toyota SUV driven by a 20-year-old Montville man were both heading south in the express lanes, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Morning rush hour traffic appeared to be moving smoothly on the Garden State Parkway after buckled pavement caused major delays in Toms River. A pavement heave was found on the southbound side near milepost 82.7, the parkway said on Twitter at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said. There's a serious crash and an overturned vehicle delaying traffic on Route 1 in Edison, authorities said. The crash occurred southbound between Parsonage Road and Grandview Avenue shortly before noon on Thursday, May 23, Edison police said.
