Residents and businesses in parts of New York City will soon need to adapt to a new area code. The New York State Public Service Commission has announced the introduction of area code 465 to the existing regions served by 347, 718, 917, and 929. A 36-year-old Irvington man was killed in a two-car crash in Edison on the early morning of Tuesday, Feb. 4, authorities said. A registered sex offender who escaped from custody while being transported in Newark last week has been apprehended, authorities said. Nicholas Voutsas, 25, had escaped from a New Jersey Department of Health medical transport van while en route to a hospital, New Jersey State Police said.
