Crash Closes Jersey Shore Road For Several Hours, Police Say
A crash closed a road in Ocean County for several hours, authorities said. East Veterans Highway was shut down between South Hope Chapel Road and Whitesville Road, the Jackson Township Police Department said in a Facebook post at 2:06 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. Traffic was also blocked from Pitney Lane onto East Veterans Highway. Officers said the road would be closed for several hours. Police haven't said how many vehicles were involved or if anyone was injured. Residents living in the area near the crash can notify officers directing traffic to get access to their homes.

Woman Cited For Careless Driving After Overturning Vehicle: Montgomery PD
A driver was given a summons for careless driving after their vehicle overturned in Montgomery Township on Thursday, July 18, authorities said. At 11:58 a.m., first responders were on the scene of an overturned vehicle at Route 518 near Brecknell Way, Montgomery Police said in a release. The driver, a 37-year-old Skillman woman was operating 2020 Mini eastbound on Route 518 when she drifted over the fog line and impacted the trailer of a landscape truck parked along the shoulder, police said. A portion of Route 18 was closed Tuesday morning, July 16 due to an overturned tractor trailer. The vehicle flipped in the southbound lanes, north of the Parkway in Colts Neck. As of 8:10 a.m., all lanes were closed.

One person was killed in a crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. A driver died in the crash in Howell Township on Tuesday, July 9, according to state police data. A wildfire has consumed 450 acres in Wharton State Forest in Burlington County, authorities said on Friday, July 5. The "Tea time Hill" wildfire had not been contained at all as of 3 p.m., the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said. The Forest Fire Service is on scene of the wildfire burning in the area of the Batona Campground and Apple Pie Hill in Tabernacle Township, the state agency said on Facebook. Police were at the scene of a crash in which a car overturned on Route 1 in North Brunswick, authorities said. The two-car crash occurred at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 6 southbound near Adams Lane, according to the NJDOT. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries, North Brunswick police said. All lanes were closed for about 50 minutes, police said.
