Rutgers Students Confront Burglar: Police A burglar fled the scene after being confronted by Rutgers University students early Wednesday morning, Feb. 11. At 3:20 a.m., the students reported an unknown perpetrator was observed inside their Hamilton Street residence in New Brunswick without authorization, Rutgers police said.  Once confronted, the burglar immediately exited the home and subsequently fled the area in an unknown direction, police said. Ciara Picard, 39, was arrested and charged with five counts of sexual assault involving a former student of Maloney High School in Meriden, police announced on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
