NJ Performing Arts Teacher Avoids Prison After Sexual Contact With Student: Prosecutor A 57-year-old former performing arts teacher in Ocean County was sentenced to parole supervision on Friday, Feb. 28, after pleading guilty to having inappropriate sexual contact with a child, authorities said. Douglas Bollinger, a Neptune City resident, is banned from having any contact with the victim and must permanently forfeit any future public employment and teaching certifications in the State of New Jersey. Off-Duty Cops Rescue Guests From Burning Jersey Shore Motel Three off-duty police officers sprang into action early Sunday morning, Feb. 23, pulling guests from a burning motel before firefighters arrived, authorities said. The fire broke out around 3:06 a.m. at a motel on the 200 block of Broadway, according to Point Pleasant Beach Police. The motel was identified in various reports as the Shore Point Motel. The off-duty officers happened to be passing by when they saw smoke and flames coming from the building.
