South Jersey Cocaine Dealer Gets 10 Years In Prison, Prosecutors Say
A Manchester Township man will spend a decade in prison for selling cocaine, authorities said. Robert Murray Jr., 61, was sentenced on Friday, Sept. 20 to ten years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. He pleaded guilty on Monday, May 6 to possession of more than one-half ounce but less than five ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute. Texas Teen Broke Into South Jersey Home Through Basement Window, Police Say
A Texas teen was accused of breaking into an Egg Harbor Township home, authorities said. Zachary Watts, 18, of Colleyville, TX, was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 14, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the report of a home burglary in the Scullville section of the township. The suspect had left the scene before officers arrived. Newly released bodycam footage shows a July 2024 arrest of a DUI driver with a history of traffic offenses who fled the scene of a crash in Monmouth County. Transparency Bodycam published footage of the crash on July 22, involving a white 2017 Mercedes GLE that had struck a pole on Mitchell Place near Oakes Road in Little Silver. Atlantic City has a police officer assigned to each school in its district, officials said. The city's government, police department, and school district agreed to put an officer in each K-8 school and two officers in Atlantic City High School throughout the 2024-25 academic year, the city said in a news release. An Egg Harbor Township woman was accused of giving false identification when she arrived at a school to be a substitute teacher, authorities said. Katherine MacPherson, 35, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 9, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers received a call from school district security about a female substitute teacher at Alder Avenue Middle School with a seemingly fraudulent teacher identification. Newly-released body-worn camera footage shows two New Jersey police officers saving a choking baby. Hightstown Officers Daniel Abbatemarco and Kenneth Larsen responded to a call of a choking baby girl on March 31. Upon arrival, they were met by a man holding the girl. Larsen arrived on scene and quickly performed the Infant Heimlich Maneuver on the girl, who was breathing again in a matter of seconds.
