Man Set Off Explosive Device On Atlantic City Sidewalk, Police Say
An Atlantic City man was accused of setting off an explosive device downtown, authorities said. Stacy Thomas, 38, was arrested on Wednesday, July 10, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. An officer saw an explosion on a sidewalk on the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue at around 2:03 a.m. The officer saw someone running from the area but first went to the explosion site to see if there were any victims. Driver Killed In Central Jersey Crash, State Police Say
One person was killed in a crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. A driver died in the crash in Howell Township on Tuesday, July 9, according to state police data. The wreck happened on Fort Plains Road at around 4:53 p.m. Howell police said the crash was between Bergerville Road and Arrowwood Court in the Wyckoff Mills section of the township. A Cumberland County man charged with stabbing another man to death last week suspected his target was his ex-girlfriend's lover, court records show. Selvin Omar Garcia-Ramirez, 21, of Bridgeton, is charged with murder and a weapons offense in the July Fourth stabbing death of Edwin Lopez-Parra, 26, also of Bridgeton.
