Man Convicted In 2018 Deadly Shooting Near Camden Grocery Store, Prosecutors Say
A Camden man was found guilty of killing another man outside a grocery store more than six years ago, authorities said. A jury convicted 44-year-old Shomari Kinard on Thursday, Oct. 10, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay said in a news release. Investigators said Kinard shot 25-year-old Nuquan Reddick seven times in the back on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Train Operator Dead, 6 Hurt In NJ Transit Crash With Tree In Burlco
A train operator was killed and multiple others hurt after a tree fell on an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 14 in Burlington County. The incident happened around 6 a.m. on the River LINE train, which had been heading north from Trenton when it struck a tree south of the Roebling Station in Mansfield Township, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Smoke Expected To Linger For Days After Burlco Forest Fire
A 30-acre forest fire has been contained, however, smoke could linger across parts of South Jersey for days, fire officials said. The fire broke out on Friday, Oct. 11 along Heath Road in the Tamarac section of Medford Township, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said. The mayor of one New Jersey town is facing weapons offenses for an incident that happened in a high school parking lot, police said. Linwood police released a statement saying only that Erland V. Chau, 72, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose stemming from an incident in the Mainland Regional High School on Oct. 1.
