DUI Driver Arrested After Train Collides With Car On Tracks In Bergen County: Officials
A motorist was arrested for driving under the influence after their vehicle was struck by an NJ Transit train carrying about 450 passengers Monday evening, Nov. 25, officials said. The collision happened at approximately 5:40 p.m., west of the Plauderville Station in Garfield, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The crash involved Port Jervis Line train #55, which departed Hoboken at 5:16 p.m. and was heading to Port Jervis. Two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash but were not injured. Michael Carbone, 77, of Pompton Plains, was struck by Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 after he disregarded the crossing gates at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, a spokesperson for NJ Transit said. A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 struck the vehicle at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park just before 9:30 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. Train Operator Dead, 23 Passengers Hurt In NJ Transit Crash With Tree
A train operator was killed and multiple others hurt after a tree fell on an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 14 in Burlington County. The incident happened around 6 a.m. on the River LINE train, which had been heading north from Trenton when it struck a tree south of the Roebling Station in Mansfield Township, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. 'Miracle of Morristown:' How Woman Who Lost Leg After Being Struck By Train Saved Her Own Life
Lisa Fitzgerald was two weeks shy of her birthday and commuting to New York when she lost her leg after being struck by train in Morristown on Saturday, May 4. Fitzgerald was on the Morristown platform with the injury when responders arrived at the scene, just before 7:25 p.m., a spokesperson for NJ Transit said.
