Father, Three Sons Killed Daughter: Union County Prosecutor A father and his three sons were indicted by a grand jury on Wednesday, Oct. 9 with manslaughter in the death of his daughter, a  28-year-old Union Township woman last May, authorities said. On Friday, May 10, the Union Police Department responded to the 300 block of Greenbriar Drive for a welfare check and found Kerline Joseph Charles dead at the scene, Union County Prosecutor William  Daniel and Union Police Director Christopher Donnelly said. Irvington Woman Convicted Of Killing Toddler In Her Care After Sharing Her Side Of Story A 44-year-old Irvington woman was convicted of manslaughter on Friday, Aug. 9  in the death of a two-year-old child she was babysitting in 2021, authorities said. Claire Gelin was babysitting the victim from Feb. 15 to Feb. 19 in her Irvington apartment, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. The child sustained serious from physical abuse on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18, but Gelin did not call 911 until Friday, Feb. 19, Stephens said. Teen Arrested In Slaying Of Hudson County Boy One Month Shy Of 18th Birthday, Prosecutor Says A 17-year-old Jersey City teenager was arrested and charged on Wednesday, July 24, with shooting a Bayonne teenager over the weekend, authorities said. At 2:30 p.m., police responded to 124 West Third Street and found John "Johnny" Dominguez, 17, unresponsive inside an apartment after being shot in the torso, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The boy was pronounced dead soon after, Suarez said. A fundraiser has been set up to pay for funeral expenses for Dominguez, who was killed a month prior to his 18th birthday, his family says.
