The King is reportedly preparing to extend the offer of “associate membership” in the voluntary association of 56 nations, who are connected through their use of the English language and historical-cultural ties, with most having been British colonies.

President Donald Trump may be ready to sign.

"I Love King Charles," Trump wrote on social media platform Truth Social on Friday, March 21, linking to a news story on the subject. "Sounds good to me!”

Charles could be using America joining as a way to repair relations between Canada and the US.

Canada is a founding Commonwealth member and one of the 15 countries with the King as head of state.

Anti-America sentiment has been surging in Canada amid tariffs imposed on each other by both nations and Trump's continued calls for Canada to be the 51st state of the US.

United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer delivered to Trump in the Oval Office late last month a hand-written invitation from King Charles for a state visit, which Trump accepted on the spot.

No date has been scheduled for the visit, but that could be when King Charles formally extends the invite.
