Timothy Robinson had been missing after he left Essex County Hospital Center in Cedar Grove on Tuesday, Dec. 17, authorities said. Robinson left the facility on Grove Avenue toward a nearby neighborhood, the Essex County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Sunday, March 23, at 4:30 p.m., two fishermen observed a body in the Passaic River near Route 46 in Montville, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. The body was identified as Robinson's on Monday, March 31 and his family was notified, authorities said.
The cause and manner of Robinson’s death remain pending, however the cause of death is not suspected to be criminal, authorities said. Scans of the body were negative for projectiles or foreign objects, authorities said.
