Murphy Declares State Of Emergency, New Snowfall Forecast Released As Winter Storm Nears New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency beginning Sunday morning, Jan. 19, right as the National Weather Service released a brand-new snowfall forecast for the winter storm heading toward the region. The storm will begin with scattered showers and a low of 26 degrees Saturday night, Jan. 18, the NWS said. By Sunday afternoon, snow is expected to begin after 1 p.m., with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees. NJ Man, 39, Drowns In Delaware Water Gap A New Jersey man's body was discovered in the Delaware River, authorities said. The 39-year-old Lakewood man was found dead in Bushkill, Pennsylvania, on Monday, Aug. 26, a National Park Service spokesperson said in a news release. His body was spotted about 20 to 30 feet from the shore at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Lehigh Valley Man Dies Tubing On Delaware River: Coroner Officials have identified the Pennsylvania man who drowned while tubing in on the Delaware River on Saturday, July 6.  Gary M. Conley, 53, of Forks Township, was on a tube on the Delaware River when he went into the water and "did not return to the surface," said the Northampton County Coroner's Office.  Bystanders pulled him to the shore and performed CPR until he could be taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus, authorities said.
