A 39-year-old Plainfield man was sentence to 364 days in prison on Friday, Nov. 22 after previously being convicted of assaulting a North Plainfield police officer by dragging him on his dirt bike in April 2022, authorities said. A 31-year-old DUI driver is facing multiple charges in a crash that left a family and a teenager seriously injured in Edison, police said. Lawrence Township Police Officer Piotr Bystrek was on routine patrol on Friday, May 31 at about 2:35 a.m. in the 2100 block of Princeton Pike in Lawrenceville when he observed two males on bicycles commit a traffic violation.
