Two Injured In Four-Car Crash: Newark PD
Two people were injured in a four-car crash in Newark on the morning of Tuesday, June 11, authorities said. At 10:59 a.m., police responded to a four-car crash at Lyons Avenue and Leslie Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.. Two people were transported to a nearby hospital for complaints of pain, Fragé said. One of the vehicles in the crash was parked and pushed against the closed gate of an unoccupied commercial property, Fragé said. All drivers remained on scene and the crash remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Shots Fired Into Vehicle In Montclair: Police
Gunshots were fired in Montclair on the early evening of Monday, June 10, authorities said. At 6:46 p.m., officers responded to New Street and Mission Street after multiple callers reported hearing five to six gunshots, Montclair police said. Police did not locate any victims and area hospitals did not report any walk-in victims of gunshot wounds, officers said. The next day, officers located a Chevy Cobalt parked on New Street with a bullet hole in the passenger side front door, police said. Man Shot In Newark: Police
A man was shot in Newark on the evening of Monday, June 10, authorities said. At 6:26 p.m., police responded to Vanderpool Street near Sherman Avenue and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. He was transported to University Hospital and is in critical but stable condition, Fragé said. The shooting remains under investigation, Fragé said.

A driver emerged with a minor injury after his Tesla plowed into a tree and several shrubs at a Ridgewood intersection. The 30-year-old driver reportedly told police he'd swerved to avoid a slow-moving vehicle that had cut in front of him at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Manor Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 7. A 22-year-old woman told authorities that she was sexually assaulted by a stranger whose car she got into near Jersey City's Journal Square. 5-Pound Pot Bust Behind School Sidelines Dealer: Elmwood Park PD
An Elmwood Park man who'd parked behind a local school had five pounds of pot for sale in his car, authorities said. Officers approached the vehicle, which was parked behind the Gantner Avenue School, shortly before 9 a.m. on a Sunday, Elmwood Park Police Chief Michael Foligno said. They found Richard Wochinger, 45, with a pound of marijuana each packed into five vacuum-sealed bags, a digital scale and assorted paraphernalia, the chief said. Wochinger was charged with possession and distribution of the pot, among other offenses, before being released pending court action.
