A New Jersey bill aimed at preventing outdated criminal records from appearing on background checks, if charges were being expunged, has been vetoed by Gov. Phil Murphy. The governor instead proposed an online tracking system and annual reporting requirements to address the state’s expungement backlog. Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-NJ, is the latest name to announce she is running for Governor of New Jersey. Sherrill, who was recently re-elected to a fourth term representing New Jersey's 11th Congressional District, declared her candidacy in a video on Monday, Nov. 18. Gov. The New Jersey Attorney General's Office has announced eight more cases of management companies and housing providers who discriminated against tenants on the basis of disability.
