Double Shooting Leaves 1 Dead In Newark, Prosecutor Says A 27-year-old Newark resident was fatally shot in a double shooting on the evening of Tuesday June 4, authorities said. At 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of South Orange Avenue and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital where Ty'Shon Young was pronounced dead, Stephens and Frage said. The other victim, a 25-year-old man, remains hospitalized, Stephens and Frage said. Man Shot Dead In Union County Park, Prosecutor Says A man was found shot to death in Warinanco Park on Sunday, May 19, authorities said. At 7:51 p.m., Union County police responded to the Roselle area of the park in response to a shooting and found the male victim, who has not been identified, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. The investigation is active and ongoing, authorities said.
