Man Assaulted, Attempted Robbery In Road Rage Incident: Newark PD Police are looking for two people after a man was assaulted during a road rage incident in Newark on Tuesday, Sept. 24, authorities said. At 4:50 p.m., a man exited his vehicle at Clinton Avenue and Bergen Street and accused the victim of hitting his car,  Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The victim got out of his truck to look at damage and when he didn't see any,  the man and a passenger in his vehicle assaulted the victim, punching and kicking him, Fragé said. Newark School Locked Down After Shooting: Police A school in Newark was briefly locked down following a shooting at a gas station on Monday, Sept. 9, authorities said.  At 1:52 p.m., police responded to Bergen Street and South Orange Avenue on a report of shots fired, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Police did not locate any victims but recovered ballistic evidence of a shooting at a gas station on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, Fragé said.
