Careless Driver Cited After Fatally Striking Crossing Guard: Hunterdon County Prosecutor A 57-year-old Glen Gardner man was issued a summons on Thursday, Jan. 2 for careless driving after fatally striking a crossing guard in High Bridge in November, authorities said. On Wednesday, Nov. 27, Steven Leydon failed to yield and fatally struck Robert Bork, a 79-year-old High Bridge resident on County Road 513, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson, Chief of Detectives Timothy Drew, and High Bridge Police Chief Brett Bartman said. Tragedy In High Bridge: Crossing Guard Killed Remembered For Life Of Service Robert "Bob" Bork, a 79-year-old High Bridge crossing guard struck and killed by a car last week is being remembered for his dedication to helping others. Bork was hit by a southbound vehicle on County Road 513 at the intersection of Larrison Avenue last Wednesday, Nov. 28, according to the High Bridge Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. Bork was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center, where he later died, officials said.  Good morning.
