Drunk Driver Crashed Into Police Car: Denville PD A 48-year-old Denville man is facing numerous charges after he drove drunk and crashed into a police car on Wednesday, March 12, authorities said. At 3:30 p.m., officers responded to Cooper Road for a report of a two-car crash involving a law enforcement vehicle, Denville police said. Steven Vasquez, the other driver, was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested, police said. Vasquez was charged with assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and other traffic offenses, police said.

Traffic Stop Turns Up Firearm In Morris County: Police A 36-year-old Morris County man was arrested and charged with improperly transporting a firearm in Denville on Saturday, Jan. 11, authorities said. At 7:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the 7-Eleven at 45 W Main St., Denville police said. Officers discovered the driver, Daniel Schmidt, a Mountain Lakes resident, was improperly transporting a firearm, police said. Schmidt was ultimately arrested and transported back to Denville Police headquarters for processing, police said. He was charged with a weapons transportation violation and released pending a court date, police said.

Officers responded to Route 80 West and observed a vehicle driven by Daniel Hernandez-Gutierrez exhibiting behaviors indicative of drinking and driving, Denville police said. Officers responded to the Sunoco gas station at 161 Route 46 for a report of a man, later identified as Shekeab Shroff, in a silver Porsche impaired, Denville police said. While officers were conducting a traffic stop on Indian Road, it was discovered the driver, Liam Harrigan, had an active NCIC Warrant out of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Denville police said.
