Man Shot In Downtown Newark: Police A man is recovering after being shot in downtown Newark on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 5, authorities said. At 4:40 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of Broad Street and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Man Stabbed In Hoboken: Authorities A man was hospitalized after he was stabbed in Hoboken on the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 4, authorities said. At 12:30 a.m., police responded to the 400 block on Harrison Street on a report of a stabbing, a spokeswoman for the city said. One man was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but was released, authorities said. Anyone with information is asked to call 201-420-2100 ext. 3127.
