Woman Robbed At Gunpoint: Newark PD A person was robbed at gunpoint in Newark on the evening of Monday, Sept. 16, authorities said. At 10:15 p.m., a woman exited her vehicle after parking on the 800 block of South 16th Street and was approached by a dark-colored, 4-door Honda HR-V sedan with a sunroof and dull metallic rims, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A male passenger exited the car, brandished a handgun, and demanded the victim’s belongings, including her car keys, Fragé said. Man Shot In Newark, Three People Detained: Police A man was shot in Newark on the evening of Friday, Sept. 13, authorities said. At 7:57 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of South 16th Street on a report of a shooting, and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A handgun was also recovered at the scene, Fragé said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said. Three suspects were detained in connection with the investigation, Fragé said.

Shooting Victim, 39, Found Lying Face Down At Paterson Intersection: Police A 39-year-old man was shot and killed overnight in Paterson, police said. Officers responding to a ShotSpotter activation around 1:35 a.m. found the man with a gunshot wound lying face down at  Madison Avenue and 14th Avenue, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi said. Officers attempted to render aid to the victim, but he was pronounced dead on scene. His identity was not released.
