Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 20, and running through Thursday, Dec. 22, single- and double-lane closures are expected on both the northbound and southbound Taconic State Parkway, between the Saw Mill River Parkway in Hawthorne and the Bear Mountain Parkway in Yorktown.
These closures will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 5 a.m., DiSarro said Monday.
Also on Tuesday, Dec. 20, the southbound portion of the Taconic between Cleveland Street and Valhalla Circle – near the Kensico Dam Plaza in Mount Pleasant -- is expected to be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Motorists will be directed to use Cleveland Street as a detour, DiSarro said.
Traffic delays are expected, she added.
The state DOT is again asking drivers to be extra careful when traveling through the work zone areas and to pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license, DiSarro said.
