Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit By SUV On Route 9 A 61-year-old was hospitalized over the weekend after he was struck by an SUV on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, near Marist College, police said. Officers from the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department received a report shortly before 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, of a Honda CR-V that struck a pedestrian on North Road, near the college. Police said that a 63-year-old Hyde Park man struck a Poughkeepsie resident who was on the roadway, not in a crosswalk.
