Woman Attempting To Cross Hudson Valley Roadway Struck, Killed By Vehicle, Police Say A woman was killed while attempting to cross a roadway in the region, according to authorities. The incident happened around 6:35 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 in Dutchess County on Route 9 at Clove Road in the Town of Fishkill. Responding officers located an unconscious woman in the roadway with serious injuries, Town of Fishkill said.  A preliminary investigation suggests the injured woman was crossing Route 9 in an easterly direction on an unlit part of the roadway when a vehicle traveling southbound operated by a 23-year-old Poughkeepsie woman struck the pedestrian…

Man Stabs Mother, Kills Pedestrian In Hit-Run Crash While Fleeing, Police Say A man who allegedly stabbed his mother and then killed a pedestrian in a fatal hit-and-run crash in the area has been apprehended. The incident unfolded in Dutchess County around 9:44 p.m., on Wednesday, May 20, when Fishkill Police responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian auto accident in the area of Route 82 and Crestwood Court.  When officers arrived on the scene, along with the New York State Police, they found a pedestrian had been struck and was seriously injured.  The vehicle involved became disabled after striking a curb and the operator fled the scene on foot, Fishk…

Driver Won't Be Charged In Crash That Killed Mother, Child Near Area Diner A 53-year-old man whose SUV crashed into a mother and her 10-month-old son crossing a street near an area diner will not face any charges in the incident in which the two were killed, according to the New York State Police.
