Trio Caught After Stealing Debit Card From Victim At Stop & Shop In Westchester: Police Three suspects from Romania face grand larceny charges after participating in a scheme to steal a victim's debit card at a Stop & Shop supermarket in Westchester, police said. The arrests resulted from an incident on Wednesday, Nov. 15 around 2 p.m., when a senior citizen reported to authorities that three people had stolen their debit card at the Stop & Shop supermarket at 420 White Plains Rd. in Eastchester. Alda Haravon, 91, Was Vital Part Of Pleasantville Community For Years It is with both gratitude for a life well-lived and great sadness for our loss that Anita Haravon and the Haravon Collins family announce the death of Alda Haravon. Surrounded by family members, the angels took Alda peacefully on Nov. 10 at Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City, Iowa. Alda was born on Dec. 4, 1928, in Bucharest, Romania, to Beatrice Berkowitz Saporta and Senor Saporta. She was baptized as a child to escape Nazi persecution.  Despite fears of the impending war, Alda was an honor student at her Catholic School, Our Lady of Zion in Bucharest.
