Lane Closure: Route 6 In Cortlandt To Be Affected Traffic on a busy main route in Northern Westchester will soon be affected by a closure that will only allow traffic to pass through a single lane controlled by a temporary signal.  Beginning on Friday, July 21 at 3 p.m., Route 6 in Cortlandt at Roa Hook Road will be reduced to a single lane, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.  Alternating traffic will be let through the single open lane by a temporary traffic signal, officials said.  Transportation officials did not say how long the lane reduction would last. Northern Westchester Clerk Cited For Selling Alcohol To Underage Youth A Northern Westchester gas station clerk was cited recently for selling beer to a 16-year-old who was assisting Westchester County Police with alcohol compliance checks at businesses that sell alcohol. The underage youth, under the supervision of county police, was sent into 17 stores in Cortlandt to attempt to buy a six-pack of beer. He was able to purchase beer on one occasion and was turned away at the other establishments. A summons was issued to a clerk at the Gulf station at 2701 East Main Street charging the business with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage to a Minor. The coun…
