A man was apprehended after starting a blaze on an island in a Hudson Valley lake and not putting it out despite numerous orders from authorities, police said. Car Rolls Over On Road In Mahopac, Causes Temporary Closure
One lane of a Hudson Valley road was temporarily closed after a car flipped, firefighters said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Oct. 18 just before 8 a.m., when a vehicle flipped at the intersection of Hill Street and Lakeside Road in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Arriving first responders evaluated the driver. However, they declined any medical attention. One lane of traffic was closed for a short time while crews operated at the crash scene. Beloved Brewster Firefighter Dies After Over 25 Years Of Service
A Hudson Valley fire department is mourning the loss of one of its active members who served his community for more than a quarter of a century. The death of Robert "Link" Linkenhoker was announced by Putnam County's Brewster Fire Department on Wednesday, Oct. 16. His age and cause of death were not made public.
