With its sustained wind strength of 70 miles per hour just short of hurricane status, Tropical Storm Henri is expected to make landfall between Montauk Point and Rhode Island late Sunday morning, Aug. 22. Since Saturday morning, Henri's track has shifted about 50 miles to the east, making landfall on Long Island less likely now. Isaias: Utility Companies Face Fines Of $137M After Investigation Into Storm Response
Utility companies in New York are facing millions in fines for their muted and unprepared response to Tropical Storm Isaias after the New York State Public Service Commission completed its months-long investigation into their responses. Con Edison, Orange & Rockland Utilities, and Central Hudson now face fines of more than $137 million in total. Cuomo Declares State Of Emergency For Westchester
A state of emergency has been declared by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday in four Hudson Valley counties: Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Sullivan.
