Agreement Reached For $9.5 Billion Project To Create New Terminal 1 At JFK
State officials say that an agreement has been reached for a $9.5 billion project to create a new international terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Monday, Dec. 13, that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reached a revised agreement with The New Terminal One, an association of financial sponsors, to build the 2.4 million-square-foot terminal. Testing sites for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) are being set up at LaGuardia and JFK airports as New York continues to combat the spread of the virus. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday, Aug. 24 that testing sites were being arranged for travelers coming into New York from states with high COVID-19 infection rates. Cuomo said that the new testing sites will allow the state to quickly determine whether incoming travelers have brought the virus into New York. Health officials in Westchester issued a statement after a student in Westchester tested positive for a common strain of the coronavirus that is not connected to the outbreak. The student at Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle tested positive for the N-L 63 strain of the virus, which is a common malady that many people will get and pass in their lives. Seven Possible NY Coronavirus Cases Sent To CDC For Testing
Seven cases of the highly contagious coronavirus in New York has been sent to the Centers for Disease Control and testing, the state Health Department announced. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Sunday, Jan. 26 that seven people have been identified for testing, with three coming up negative, and four still pending.
