Police Searching For Man Who Jumped From Bridge In Hudson Valley Police in the area are searching for a man who jumped off a bridge in the Hudson Valley The incident took place at around 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 at the span of the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Ulster County. That's when officers responded to a 911 call of a man jumping off the bridge, said Chief James Janso of the Town of Lloyd Police. "An extensive search from multiple agencies was conducted and at this time the victim has not been located," Janso said. Man Jumps To His Death From Area Bridge On New Year's Day, Police Say A 29-year-old man died after jumping to his death from an area bridge on New Year's Day, said authorities. The apparent suicide by the resident of Dutchess County took place on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, said Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Capt. John Watterson. The $14.7 million project will raise the height of the overpass from 14 to 16 feet at the interchange. The funding was awarded by the New York State Bridge Authority in late February. During construction - which is expected to last for nearly two years - will be done two lanes at a time, from south to north, and is expected to be completed in 2020.
