2-Car Crash Causes Injuries, Lane Closure At Mahopac Intersection
A 2-car crash at a Putnam County intersection caused a brief road closure and resulted in injuries, fire crews said. The incident happened on Friday, Feb. 7 at around 3:30 p.m., when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Route 6 and Mount Hope Road in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. One person involved in the crash was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, while the other refused transport. The lanes from Route 6 to East Lake Boulevard were closed for around a half hour while the vehicles were removed from the road.

Person Hospitalized After Crash In Front Of Mahopac Home
A person was taken to a hospital following a serious crash in front of a Hudson Valley residence. The incident happened in Putnam County on Thursday, Oct. 5 in Mahopac. At around 3:45 p.m., the Carmel Police Department and Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department responded to the area of Mount Hope Road and Highridge Road for a reported car wreck. Photos: Oil Spill Reaches Lake Mahopac
More than 200 gallons of oil flowed down a hill, spilled into Lake Mahopac and had to be cleaned up by first responders. The oil spill was reported on Mount Hope Road in Mahopac at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, prompting a heavy response by multiple emergency agencies.
