School Employee Hospitalized After Explosion At Maintenance Building In Westchester
A 69-year-old man from the Hudson Valley was injured in an explosion inside a school district maintenance building in Westchester that also caused a small fire. The incident happened on Tuesday, Aug. 13 just before 1:20 p.m., when an oil tank explosion was reported at a Mamaroneck School District maintenance building and garage at 119 Gertrude Ave., according to Lt. Westchester School District Alerts Community Of Masturbating Man In Intersection
A student headed to school in Westchester reported to officials that he observed a man in a car masturbating near the building, the district announced. The Mamaroneck School District issued a notice to the community that a student walking to Hommocks Middle School at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24 advising that a student saw a man in a white car masturbating near the intersection of Boston Post Road and Hommocks Road. Whooping Cough Case Reported At School In Westchester
A case of “whooping cough” has been reported at a Westchester middle school. School officials from the Mamaroneck School District issued an alert to parents warning that a student at Hommocks Middle School in Larchmont may have exposed other children to the disease. It is unclear if or when the child may have spread the infection to fellow students. Longtime Ossining Resident, Former Schools Superintendent Dies At 67
Longtime Northern Westchester resident Paul Fried, who served as superintendent of two Westchester school districts and assistant superintendent at another, has died at age 67. Fried came to White Plains on July 1, 2015 from Montville Township, N.J., where he had been superintendent for five years. Fried went on medical leave a year after arriving in White Plains before resigning from his position later in 2016. Prior to that, he was superintendent of the Mamaroneck School District from 2005 to 2010 and was a principal and assistant superintendent in Ossining for the previous 19 years. Du…
