Car Crashes Into Lake In Area A Hudson Valley fire department removed a vehicle from a frozen lake after a crash. The incident took place in Putnam County around 11:45 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, when the Mahopac Falls Dive Team was requested to South Lake Boulevard for reports of a vehicle submerged in the lake, the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department said. Upon arrival, Captain Jason Stasiak, found a vehicle submerged approximately 25 feet from shore in 10 feet of ice-cold water.  One member of the Mahopac Falls Dive Team entered the water to search the vehicle which was unoccupied, the department said. Several People Rescued After Car Crashes Near Reservoir In Carmel Multiple first responders were able to save several people from serious injury after a car crashed into an embankment near a reservoir in Carmel with the occupants still inside. The crash took place Friday afternoon on Washington Road, off of Route 6, according to officials. Carmel Police were first on the scene and found an occupied vehicle down the embankment. Man Charged With DWI After 100 MPH Chase Ends With Crash In Route 22 Pond A 32-year-old man is facing multiple charges after taking a Putnam County Deputy Sheriff on a high-speed chase in excess of 100 mph before coming to a crashing halt through a guardrail and into a pond. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley announced the arrest of Brewster resident Mercer Given following the wild chase, which started on Route 22 near the intersection of Route 312.
