One Hospitalized In Two-Car Mahopac Crash One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following a two-car crash in Mahopac. The crash took place around 9 a.m., Monday, in the area of 668 Union Valley Road, according to Mahopac EMS. Along with units from the Carmel Police Department, a call for a second ambulance from Mahopac Falls was dispatched.  Chief Bill Nikisher arrived on the scene with Mahopac EMS and assumed command as they began a triage of the patients. Teenage Boy Drowns in Area Lake Click here for an updated story: ID Released For 14-Year-Old Area Drowning Victim A 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in Lake Tonetta in Southeast, according to multiple sources. The incident took place around 9 p.m. Sunday when several teens were swimming off a floating dock at a neighborhood beach on Shore Drive, officials said. Divers from Mahopac Falls found the teen about 45 minutes after receiving the call that he had not resurfaced. Mahopac Falls Fire District Welcomes Back A Familiar Staple Over the past few months, residents of Mahopac Falls might have noticed something missing -- the 6 p.m. siren from the fire district headquarters.  The siren also used to summon firefighters when they are needed, has been down to be refurbished with a new motor.  With the help of members of the Mahopac and Carmel fire departments, and their expertise using their ladder trucks, the siren was removed, repaired and remounted.  Now back home where it belongs, the siren has been repainted and re-stenciled with the familiar "FDNY 343", a tribute to those lost on 9/11.  Residents can ex…
