The identity of those involved in a serious wrong-way crash on a highway in Westchester, including a 22-year-old woman who was killed, have been released by authorities. Bedford Hills resident Isabel Steger, age 22, was killed on Sunday, April 9 when her 2020 Honda Civic was hit head-on around 4:40 a.m. on Interstate 87 near Exit 1 in Yonkers, according to New York State Police. Number Of Confirmed Coronavirus Cases In Westchester Jumps To 18 From 10, Cuomo Says
The number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in Westchester County has jumped to 18 from 10 in one day. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Thursday, March 5 that the number of cases had risen to 18, with the eight new cases all related to the 50-year-old New Rochelle attorney who was the first county resident to contract the virus. Monthslong Palmer Road Bridge Closure Set To Start
This story has been updated. There will be a lane closure on the Palmer Road Bridge for more than a month in Yonkers as Westchester County performs work on the roadway. Yonkers Councilman Mike Breen said that he was notified on Friday, April 5, that crews would be performing work on the westbound lanes on the bridge between Paxton Avenue and Parkview Avenue. Police Officer In Westchester Dies At 33
A 33-year-old police officer in Westchester died unexpectedly at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. Thomas Goff, who had been with the Yonkers Police Department for the past three and half years, died on Saturday, March 30, according to an obituary by Whalen & Ball Funeral Home.
