'Simply Hang Up': Police In Westchester Warning Of Phone Scammers Impersonating Officers A Westchester County police department is warning people to be aware of phone scammers who have been impersonating officers to solicit money.  The unknown scammers have been calling Yonkers residents and posing as police, threatening arrests in exchange for paying non-existent fines or convincing people to give fake donations, according to a release by the Yonkers Police Department from Monday, Nov. 14.  The scammers' telephone number often appears on caller ID as originating from Yonkers Police, including numbers from the 4th Precinct, (914) 377-7402, authorities said. …
