Fatal Cortlandt Crash: 17-Year-Old ID'd As Victim, Girl Critically Injured
A 17-year-old has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash in Northern Westchester in which a 16-year-old was critically injured. It happened around 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15 on Albany Post Road (Route 9) in Cortlandt. According to New York State Police spokesman AJ Hicks, an iitial investigation revealed Putnam County resident and Haldane High School student Vladislav Saban, of Cold Spring, operating a 2012 Toyota Prius southbound sideswiped a Subaru Forester while passing illegally on the right shoulder. Morning Fire Destroys Putnam Home
A home under construction in Putnam County was destroyed when a fire broke out early on Friday, Dec. 13. Officials said that a home being built on Canopus Hollow Road went up in flames at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday in Putnam Valley. It is unclear what caused the fire, which fully engulfed the frame of the home. Philipstown Woman Dies In Fire
A 52-year-old Philipstown woman died in an overnight fire at the Stepping Stone Group Home, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The fire, which started around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, at the center at 345 Route 301, sent multiple fire department to the scene, said Putnam County Sheriff's Capt. Lisa Ortolano. Arriving units discovered an active fire in a bedroom on the second floor of the residence. A search of the bedroom revealed an unidentified female resident, who was unconscious.
