Former Northern Westchester HS Standout To Make Major League Debut
There's a brand-new major leaguer from the Hudson Valley.
Northern Westchester native Henry Davis, an alum of Fox Lane High School in Bedford, is set to make his Major League debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 23-year-old Davis, a right-hand hitting catcher, was called up by the Pirates on Sunday, June 18 from Triple-A affiliate Indianapolis.
The Pirates host the Chicago Cubs in the first of a three-game series at 7:05 p.m. Monday, June 19.

Northern Westchester Native Who Served In Navy, Worked As Physical Therapist Dies
A native of Northern Westchester who served in the military and worked as a physical therapist has died.
Peter E. Clark, who was born in Mount Kisco and graduated from Fox Lane High School in Bedford, was age 62.
He died on Sunday, April 30, and was a longtime resident of Palm Harbor, Florida.
After growing up in Bedford and graduating high school, he joined the US Navy and served his time in honor of his country out at sea during the time of the Libyan Crisis, according to his obituary.

These Westchester High School Seniors Named Regeneron Scholars
Thirty-two high school seniors from Westchester are among the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2023, regarded as the nation’s oldest and most prestigious scholastic science and math competition, the Society for Science announced on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
The 300 will be awarded $2,000 each and their schools will be awarded $2,000 for each enrolled scholar.
The Regeneron Science Talent Search scholars were selected from 1,949 applications from 627 high schools across 48 states, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and four other countries.

Katherine ("Kath") Darcy Deickler, age 66 of Lincoln, MA, died peacefully at her residence on May 19 from an arduous struggle with Parkinson’s disease. She was a beautiful, dynamic, intelligent and giving woman.
