Man Struck, Killed By Car On Old Route 6 This story has been updated. A 44-year-old man was struck and killed while walking along Old Route 6 in Putnam County. The man, an unidentified Patterson resident, was hit about 7:06 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, in the vicinity of Spins Bowl in Carmel by a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, said Carmel Police. The driver of the vehicle was a 37-year-old male from Stormville, police said. Carmel Police, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies, Emstar Paramedics, Carmel Ambulance and Carmel FD all responded to the scene. Several People Rescued After Car Crashes Near Reservoir In Carmel Multiple first responders were able to save several people from serious injury after a car crashed into an embankment near a reservoir in Carmel with the occupants still inside. The crash took place Friday afternoon on Washington Road, off of Route 6, according to officials. Carmel Police were first on the scene and found an occupied vehicle down the embankment. Man Found Dead Pinned Under Dodge Ram On Route 22 An investigation is underway after a 58-year-old Fairfield County man was found dead underneath a pickup truck in Dutchess County. New York State Police troopers responded to a 911 dispatch of a man pinned under a vehicle on Route 22 in the town of Pawling on Friday, June 1 just before 8 a.m.  James C. Roberts of Danbury was trapped under a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck. Pawling Fire Department removed the vehicle, but Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene by EMStar Paramedics. Philipstown Woman Dies In Fire A 52-year-old Philipstown woman died in an overnight fire at the Stepping Stone Group Home, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The fire, which started around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, at the center at 345 Route 301, sent multiple fire department to the scene, said Putnam County Sheriff's Capt. Lisa Ortolano.  Arriving units discovered an active fire in a bedroom on the second floor of the residence.
