Longtime Fire Department Captain In Westchester Dies A longtime fire captain in Westchester died following a lengthy battle against pancreatic cancer. The Eastchester Fire Department announced that Philip Pinto, Jr., a captain there for more than three decades, died on Saturday, Jan. 8 at the age of 54. Pinto is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lisa, his children Lauren (Tim) and Philip, and his father Philip A. Fire Breaks Out At Restaurant In Westchester Firefighters were able to knock down a fire that broke out at an area Chinese restaurant, saving several other businesses in the process. The fire, at the Hunan III at 6 Cedar St., in Bronxville, started around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 from a build-up of grease in the broiler, said Eastchester Fire Chief Brian Tween.
