The incident took place around 3:20 p.m., Monday, March 9, when the City of Poughkeepsie Police received multiple 911 calls about a male drowning in the river, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Suicidal Man Holding Onto Walkway Over Hudson Railing Pulled To Safety In a dramatic rescue, a distraught man who had climbed over the Walkway Over the Hudson and was dangling over the water clinging to a railing was pulled to safety by City of Poughkeepsie police, and a firefighter.
