A member of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office on patrol shortly after midnight on Saturday, Dec. 8 stopped a vehicle on Route 6 in Carmel when it was spotted speeding in the area. The vehicle eventually came to a rest near the intersection of Drewville Road and Crafts Road. During the stop, a Sheriff’s Deputy found that 30-year-old Michael Murtagh was allegedly intoxicated.
