9/11 Memorial Falling Apart In Westchester: Officials To Come Up With New Replacement
Officials are coming up with a new plan to replace a 9/11 memorial at a public park in Westchester that has started falling apart. The People's 9/11 Memorial Wall, located in Hartsdale at Richard Presser Park on Central Avenue, has begun deteriorating, according to Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. The memorial, which was built in 2003 after a collaboration between the town of Greenburgh and Arts Westchester, consists of around 1,800 ceramic tiles from an art workshop that were affixed to a wall. Good news book lovers. Barnes & Noble is returning to a busy Westchester town after leaving in 2012. According to Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, residents were disappointed and missed the beloved bookstore on Central Avene in Hartsdale, a hamlet of Greenburgh. Feiner said the company has signed a lease at the Dalewood Shopping Center in the 12,490-square-foot space, formerly occupied by Mrs. Green's Market. The family of a Westchester man who died last year during a struggle with members of the Greenburgh Police Department has filed a $20 million wrongful death lawsuit against the town and first responders. ID Released For Northern Westchester Woman Struck, Killed By BMW
The woman killed late Friday afternoon after being struck by a BMW in Hartsdale has been identified. The crash occurred in front of Petco at 324 Central Ave. in Hartsdale between Dalewood Road and Battle Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney said. Police officers came upon the unresponsive woman lying in the roadway of the northbound lane.
