Widespread Internet Outage Affects Google, Amazon, Other Major Websites Some of the largest websites in the world were knocked offline at around midday Thursday, July 22.  The outage rendered financial, travel, retail, and gaming sites unavailable for a brief amount of time. Google, Amazon, Fidelity, Costco, Delta Air Lines, British Airways, and Capital One -- and even the official Olympic website -- were all affected. Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to track down a woman who allegedly found a Westchester resident's wallet and promptly attempted to go on a spending spree using the stolen credit cards. Investigators received a report on Friday, March 29, from a local resident who stated that he believed he dropped his brown wallet in front of his Garth Road apartment in Scarsdale at approximately 2:15 p.m. The wallet contained a driver’s license, a Chase debit card, Capital One credit card and a Chase Hyatt Visa card.
