14-Year-Old NY Boy Who Went Missing After School Event Found Safe Update: New York State Police announced that a 14-year-old boy who was reported missing after attending a school event has been found safe. Ontario County resident John Abrams, of Honeoye, was reported missing after he attended an event at the Bloomfield Elementary School, police reported on Thursday, Jan. 5. Northern Westchester Locale Is Among 'Most Charming Small Towns' Near NYC As New York turns the calendar to fall and many begin flocking away from the city and into the suburbs, several Hudson Valley communities have been named among the state’s “most charming” small towns. Purewow.com released a new report highlighting the top 16 small towns in New York that are all within a few hours from Manhattan and far less densely populated than the city as the country continues to contend with the COVID-19 pandemic. Lou Alice "Buddy" Baker Pierce, 91, Yorktown YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Lou Alice (“Buddy”) Baker Pierce passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on Saturday, Dec. 16. Pierce was born in Corning and graduated from Northside High School in 1944. She developed a natural drawing ability and worked as a draftsman at Ingersol Rand for many years. She did architectural drafting for the Yorktown Town Hall where she lived for 26 years before returning to Corning to be closer to her sisters and ultimately moving to Connecticut to be close to her daughter and her family.  She was predeceased by her son, Gregory Pierce and husband, Pier Pierc…
