Man Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center Dies After Fiery Crash A 20-year-old passenger was killed in a fiery single-car crash overnight.  It happened at around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 in Dutchess County on the Shunpike between Route 44 and Kennels Road in the town of Washington. The car, a Toyota sedan, went off the roadway and into the tree, before becoming engulfed in flames, State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks said. An initial investigation revealed James M. Tanker Fire Causes Route 22 Closure Route 22 is shut down in both directions Saturday night in the Town of Amenia between the Amenia Town Hall and the intersection of Route 343 following a tanker fire, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports just before 9:30 p.m. Traffic can still travel west on Route 44 towards Millbrook and east on Route 343 towards Connecticut. The road closure is due to the brakes on a loaded gasoline tanker catching fire and disabling the vehicle.  The tank has not been compromised and there has been no release of hazardous materials.  The Amenia and Wassaic Fire Departments extinguished the fire …
