MAAC Names Lakeland HS Grad Tori Jarosz Basketball Player Of Year

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Marist College senior center Tori Jarosz, a Lakeland High School graduate and Cortlandt Manor resident, is the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year for 2015-16.

Jarosz is a four-time MAAC Player of the Week and finished first in the conference with 18.8 points and tied for first with 12.1 rebounds per game. She also finished first with a 49.0 field goal percentage, 3.0 blocked shots per game and 9.3 defensive rebounds per game.

Jarosz was unanimously selected to the All-MAAC First Team and is a repeat All-MAAC FIrst Team selection. She leads the MAAC in blocked shots, blocked shots per game, defensive rebounds per game, field goals made, field goal percentage, free throws attempted and made, free throw percentage, points per game and rebounds per game. 

Nationally, Jarosz ranks 15th in blocked shots, 12th in blocked shots overall, 6th in rebounds per game and 6th in overall rebounds. She is the national leader in double-doubles with 24 in 29 games. 

The league's 11 head coaches vote for the honor annually.
