Rye, which also lost to Lakeland in last year's final in double-OT, ends its season at 18-1-1.

The Hornets got four goals in the first half from an angry Dana Bozek, who didn't appreciate being slammed to the ground on a corner, and made Rye pay.

Lakeland, which has won the last six state championships, and has nine overall, improved to 19-0 with the win, and moves on to regional play. The Hornets were set to face Section 4's Vestal Saturday at 3 p.m. at Valhalla High School.
