Lakeland Beats Rye To Win Sectional Field Hockey Title

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Lakeland field hockey team secured the Section 1 Class B title with a 3-0 win over Rye on Tuesday, Nov. 5, according to LoHud.com.

The Lakeland girl's field hockey team defeated Rye for the Section 1 Class B title on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Rye managed to keep the game close through the first half, trailing by only one, but the Hornets were able to pull away in the second half with two goals to secure the title, LoHud.com reported.

Lakeland will face the Section 8-Section 11 winner in White Plains on Saturday, Nov. 9. The Hornets are seeking their fifth consecutive state title, according to LoHud.com.
