Frank Morello sent photos to Daily Voice taken from his trail camera. He said he set up a camera to capture images of the bear after they saw it had gotten into a beehive.

"I wanted to see if he came back," Morello said.

Morello reported the sighting to the police. An electric fence was put up with molasses smeared on it so the bear would come back, get electrocuted and not want to come back.

"This was the first time I've seen a bear," Morello, an avid hunter said. "I've seen bobcats and I hunt deer and turkey."

Yorktown police advised residents with several safety tips including removing bird feeders, not leaving garbage outside, and not leaving small children or pets unattended.
